Letter to My Children (November 7, 2021)

Morning!

Because it’s getting cooler out, there is more downtime to write to you all. The old photo albums are a treat. What a wonderful childhood you all had. Here is Grampa Beck playing cards with Joshy at a wedding. Probably it was close, because Grampa is good, but so was Josh!

Besides all the family photos with you all and the Fitch and Beck relatives, there are the good old friends in our photos. Aquado, Marshes, Cases, McDougalls, Crawfords, Harveys, etc. They never ceased being in our lives. Breakfast with Chuck and Linda most Sundays, Denise says hi (she’s in Florida), Danny stopped to borrow the pickup truck. If Grampa doesn’t see me every few days, he drives up to inspect the progress.

It’s normal life here. As you know from your childhood. Our door was revolving with visitors, relatives, friends…downtime rare! Watching cousin Bill work, I am reminded that the speedy way of getting the job done is a Beck thing. You learned that, probably just watching me. How many times I have been told to slow down! But it’s in the DNA. We like to work, and work fast and well.

I love you all. Waiting for a call or visit or text. Somehow you will, and soon! Jonathan, I love you and forgive you! Grampa and Gramma heard you…but Grampa knew it was not you speaking. It was the people influencing you, who have encouraged you to cut off your flesh and blood. So they can use you and your talents all for themselves. It was sad for us, an eye-opener, to the control you place yourself under.

Come home. Love,
Mom
