#2 Dear Jonathan, Sarah, Joshua and Christina,
Hello dear children. I am tired of lies and innuendo. For a while these letters tell stories given me by victims of the church. Naturally I would prefer to warn you privately. As parents do with their children. When you stop isolating, I will not share publicly.
Let’s tell the story of Pastor Steve Gardner. Seemingly retired, but still on staff at Calvary Temple Church in Sterling, Virginia. Steve Gardner seems like a nice old man. Subsequent to becoming an associate pastor under Pastor Star Scott, Gardner cut off his extended family. (Excepting a niece who cut off her extended family and is at Calvary Temple Church). But that is not all Gardner did. He also encouraged 3 young teens to run away from their parents home. He took them into his home. After one year of isolating them from their parents and family, the youngest ran back to his parents in the middle of the night! Wow!
Do you know who those 2 remaining teens were? Mike Gardner, a deacon at the church now. Emily Heglund (Pastor Jeff Heglunds brothers wife). Yes well, apparently they changed their names. Other deacons contributed to their financial support as youngsters. Totally cut off their parents. And after 20 years apart. (Lying to everyone that asked, that their parents were not serving God. Their parents had left Calvary Temple Church.) Mike and Hannah were permitted to ask their parents forgiveness (20 YEARS apart!!) for running away from home and family. Of course their parents forgave them.
Why would Pastor Steve Gardner encourage 3 youngsters to run away from home? Dishonor and lie about parents who loved them and were distraught to get them back? And after years suffering, and quiet mourning, they have to still be silent if they wish to have some contact with their now adult children. Both of whom are serving Calvary Temple Church in leadership positions.
Did Mike Gardner teach my Joshua to run away and lie and dishonor his parents at age 17? Did Hannah Heglund teach my Christina to run away and lie and dishonor her parents at age 14? Mike is a deacon. Hannah’s husband is a deacon.
I was told that Mike gave his mother a letter asking her forgiveness for changing his name from McMann to Gardner, and running away and dishonoring them. She told me she didn’t want to read it, she didn’t want to ever see Pastor Scott. Or talk to him. I asked her if she would reprove her son for encouraging my son to do what he did? She said no, she would trust God to show him his sin.
I love you guys. Repent. To God and to your family. And do what is right. Your deeds are evil. But God will forgive and restore you!
