Letter to My Children (May 23, 2022)

Dear Jonathan, Sarah, Josh, and Christina,

I love you all. Miss you. Please come see me soon. Stacking the woodpile for the coming winter. Everything is blooming. Vegetable gardens nearly planted. When outside working from morning to night, listening to the birds, visiting with relatives and neighbors, I think of what you are missing. Never give away what belongs to you. Don’t give up your parents, or children, or personality, or friends. Keep what God gave you.

I am so glad to hear of the people who have left Calvary Temple in the past few days and weeks. Yay! Glad they are reconnecting with their own personal families outside Calvary Temple! How sad for anyone whom they are now being kept from seeing. (By the way, just loved the recent photos of some of your children. And thank you to whoever sent those on to us.)

As for us Christians, there is only one God and Jesus his son. Who died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day, ascending to heaven he is seated at the right hand of God, and daily makes intercession for those of us who call on him for help in times of need. I think you kids must remember that God. The sacrifice is done. You are free in Christ. Don’t let a pastor or anyone steal your liberty. Don’t forget how you were raised!

Anyway, I love you lots. Not well lately. So glad for the sunshine after weeding the peas and onions. Warms me up! Call!

Love,
Mom
