Letter to My Children (March 27, 2022)

Jonathan, Sarah, Joshua, and Christina,

It’s early. Still dark out and snowing! I dreamed of you all. Picked up some lumber yesterday morning for the rest of the garden beds. A fast way to amend the soil is to build up. Instead of digging down. An old-fashioned way of growing vegetables right away, and improving the ground slowly. In the afternoon, went through another box of pictures, filled with your school projects and report cards, moments of childhood in New York. Wondered if I should make a wall photo collage upstairs. For you all to see easily, when you do come home. Dad said it well…to hang onto all these boxes of your stuff, to remind you, when you come back to us, of who you are.

In the meantime, our advice to you. Leave Calvary Temple in Sterling, Virginia. They are dividing families, slandering people, preaching false doctrine, and encouraging bad things. And come home for a visit, to hug your mom and dad and sister, and make things right. No one else. The rest of the family will see that and it will be all right.

 Love, Mom
