Letter to Sarah (January 10, 2023)

Happy Birthday Sarah. I hope you had a nice day. I texted you early, we are all early birds in this family. Was reminding your family here, about some memories of your childhood. This one hangs on our fridge.

Prayed for you and your family to come home soon. To love your mom again, and your dad, and grandfathers, and aunts and uncles and cousins. We all miss you.

Just now I was humming the old song from Micah. One of my favorite verses. Can you still sing it? I used to often when you were young.

He has told you, O man…
What is good and what the Lord requires of you.
But to do justly.
And to love mercy.
And to walk humbly with thy God.

But you can’t do justly if you don’t investigate a matter, all sides.
And you can’t love mercy if you won’t talk to certain people.
And you can’t walk humbly with thy God, if you haven’t done the first two.
You aren’t doing what the Lord requires of you Sarah.
But you can! Ask him to help you do the right thing.
Because it’s the right thing to do.

Love you dear daughter,
Mom
