Letter to My Children (September 12, 2019)

Dear Jonathan, Sarah, Josh, and Christina,

How are you all? Joshua, we were happy to hear that your wife is expecting a baby. I called while dad was loading up more of household belongings to take to the new house and left you a long message congratulating you both. And asking to see you soon.
In the picture your brother Jonathan was the ringbearer for old family friends. You children grew up with the Paddock, Cases, Harveys, O’Connors, Marshs, Aquados, and others. Yet along with Dad and I and our family relatives, you have shunned all these good friends. One of whom, right now, is suffering the loss of a daughter. Angelica. I called you to tell you, but no answer. Others left messages. It is heartless to not care in the face of tragedy. You were not raised this way. Return to the sweet, harmless faith of your childhood. Honor God by loving and honoring your own family and your old friendships.

I love you all and miss you so much.

XO Your own mom
