Letter to My Children (April 14, 2019)

Dear Jonathan, Sarah, Joshua, and Christina,

How are you all? And the grandbabies? Have had you all in my thoughts constantly the past few days. Denise’s mom passed away. You remember Aldo and Angela. They never stopped praying you children would return to me. Could not imagine how a pastor and church could turn your hearts against your family. You know Andrew also had a new little baby boy, named Hudson. I was cuddling him the other evening, and imagining it was your little one Jonathan. Also named Hudson and born sometime last summer. I asked Morgan and Keith to take the baby’s gifts to your house. Because you and Sarah have been instructed by your pastor to put a no trespassing order on us. We cannot come to your doors to knock and leave presents. The futility of trying to reason with you all is overwhelming. Why can’t you stop doing this? We are all growing and changing and loving and learning so much, and without you in our lives. Part of our family. Yet not really. Please consider how much pain and suffering you have caused us all. This behavior is unbecoming and offensive, turning folks away from God.
We love you. We are still calling and texting and trying to get any information we can regarding you children. Are you well? Where do you work? Is Sarah ok? Is Christina ok? Did Josh and Christina graduate from college? Jonathan are you able to provide ok for your three little ones? Is Carly feeling ok? Is Josh doing ok?
The ice is off the lake, daffodils and crocuses are coming up. Noah wanted to fish today. He’s so grown up. Helped rake out beds today with Lorretta’s (your old babysitter) children. He has a picture of you all in his room, talks of you often. We pray at night for each of you. To come home to us. We love you all and always will.
