Letter to My Children (January 12, 2020)

Dear Children,

How are you? How are my grandchildren? The other day was sent some photos of you kids and of Pastor Scott, above center. Talking the gospel or something, with guys at a car show. Illustration, I guess, of his persona. Guys do enjoy talking to him. He appears as a man's man. Convincing everyone in his congregation to do cruelties to family members... even after all the exposure from news and articles for a decade.

Nowadays, large numbers of bad men hold positions of power. Money allows them to be heard. Pastor Scott and Calvary Temple Ministries, is a wealthy man owning a wealthy church. The church’s location places it in the richest county (https://www.foxbusiness.com/money/washington-dc-suburbs-richest-counties) in the United States. Money goes hand in hand with influence and power. Long ago, I was naive about the Gospel used as camouflage. Thought leaders of ministries were men of good reputation. Thoroughly checked out, vetted to get into those positions of leadership. Not.

Children, come home. You are loved. Our family derives no benefit from you. The opposite. Your reputations have hurt us. You provide no love, no kindness, no provision, no help, no encouragement, no Christ-like example, no support-to your parents or sister and nephews or extended family. But you are ours, and we love you. And we want you all back. Bring all you have and come see us. Even the dogs are welcome!
