Letter to My Children (March 8, 2019)

Dear Jonathan, Sarah, Josh, and Christina,

How are you all? How are our little grandchildren? We love and miss you so much! We are at the tail-end of a tough flu bout up here, Bompa and I ended up on antibiotics, along with John and Peter. Actually went to the doctors office for the first time since my hip replacement in 2010.
Still going through old photos, and here is one from 2007, with Grampa and Gramma Fitch. We were all warned anonymously long ago, that you kids were being directed to cultivate a relationship with them because of their wealth. It was already obvious to them and us however. The only family relatives being sent pictures of our grandchildren, along with cards and gifts for birthdays and Christmas. Doesn’t take a brain surgeon to see the bias. Grampa and Gramma Beck, your mom and dad, your cousins and aunts and uncles were not on the receiving end of such displays of affection. Only our wealthy, vulnerable, unwary and aged relatives. Pretty sinister.
Now, children, I am not angry with any of you over this. By now the many stories of freed Calvary Temple former attendees illuminate a common thread of abusive control from the leadership on down. You are, as dad likes to say, just “doing what you’ve been instructed to do.” But as your mother who bore you, loves you, raised you, provided for you, etc., I just want you to know what has been done is wrong, please stop doing it, and contact us all. We love you. Very, very much.
